Since the release of the cd "BICYCLES FOR RASTAS MAYAS" by ROOTS AND WISDOM in late 2004, interest in the musical group has gradually picked up around the world. According to reports from CD BABY, an independent company that tracks the progress of thousands of artists around the world, the sales of ROOTS AND WISDOM music in Europe, U.S.A., Canada and Mexico has been at a steady rise since 2004. This prompted the release of ROOTS AND WISDOM cd's to top digital music distribution companies like MSN music, Apple i Tunes and several others in 2005.

Following up with the digital distribution, a deal was struck in 2006 which included ROOTS AND WISDOM cd's in the catalog of top distributors who supply music to all major music stores around the world. What this means is that people can now walk in or call their favorite music stores and ask for what music they have available from ROOTS AND WISDOM. If they do not already have the music in their stock, or they are out of stock, they will gladly order more for you at the shortest time possible.

According to Derek Shrever, the

President of CD BABY, even though this is good news, independent bands like ROOTS AND WISDOM, without the budget of big record companies, still have to promote hard to get people to go and look for these cd's.

In response, ROOTS AND WISDOM has begun a promotional tour in Mexico and the USA to promote their most current cd's "BICYCLES FOR RASTAS MAYAS" and "AFRICA FE". An all "Espangles" version of all spanish songs from both cd's is currently under compilation for promotion later in the year in Central and South America.

ROOTS AND WISDOM will be ready for a tour of Europe next year according to the group's leader, Wisdom Ogbor. The plan is to approach music promoters in Spain and cut into as many countries in Europe for a tour of about two months.

The group is also experimenting with a few video clips of their songs with the hope that they will get support to produce more. Even though the videos are not as widely popular as the cd's, the band hopes to soon include a video in all or at least one of their best selling cd.
