Punta Herrero, Quintana Roo, Mexico
The only unspoiled, un-touristic fishing village left in
"La Zona Maya", Punta Herrero is the beginning of the Mayan coastal
line south of Cancun, which cuts through Mahahaul, and ends for Mexico in Xcalak,
and Belize begins a little distance away with the island of San pedro.. Even
though Punta Herrero is about 200 kilometers from Carrillo Puerto through the
only approved route, it is administratively zoned to this historic Mayan town.
