Hi People!
My name is Wisdom. I was introduced to bicycle activism in the USA around 1996. But I believe that I have always cherished the love of the bicycle since I was a lad in Nigeria where it is extremely difficult for many poor people to own their own bicycles even though their independence from poverty might depend on a bicycle.

In the United States of America people's dependency on the bicycle has become mostly on a recreational basis. There are many households in America who own more than two active motor vehicles and at least three inactive bicycles that have been forgotten some where, gathering dust in storage. This was the scenario that got me involved with acquiring these inactive bicycles to put to use anywhere someone might need an affordable mode of transportation. The fact that the bicycle does not pollute the environment also makes it a very safe and sustainable mode of transportation.

A friend who has passed away, Eric Fortmeyer Jr. introduced me to a Mr. James Damon in Austin Texas. That was how I got involved with Bikes Not Bombs. I worked with the Austin Yellow Bike Project, coordinated some youth bicycle programs and founded a Mexico and Central America  bicycle project from Bikes Not Bombs. I also continue to play music. Proceeds from my music support my bicycle projects. 

 I want to work with people to initiate a Africa Bicycle Project with all our friends in Europe and Africa.
